So you've successfully upgraded to the Anniversary Update and you're definitely feeling and enjoying the new features, well congratulations. However, there is one you've noticed about storage space, you've probably noticed some leftover files of the old version of windows you were using and you're probably wondering how on earth you've consumed such amount of space on your HDD.
Well, the simple explanation is because the Windows 10 Anniversary update is huge & comes with lots new features and the good news is that you can delete them (The old windows files) by using the Disk Cleanup Utility present in Windows 10 and free up to 10GB space.
How to Use Disk Cleanup Utility to free up to space.
==>> Open This PC (Formerly known as My Computer in windows XP and Win 7).
==>> Right Click on your Windows Installation Drive (Normally Drive C)
==>> Click on Properties.
==>> Click Disk Cleanup.
==>> Click OK and then exercise some patience for the cleaning process to be completed
Now, In the Disk Cleanup window, click Clean Up System Files and make sure that the Previous Windows Installations(s) check box is ticked. Also, tick all the checkbox(s) for the items you want to clean.
Please note that deleting these files won’t let you roll back to the older version of Windows 10. The upgrade and the freed up space will be permanent and no damages will be done to either you windows PC or your hard drives.
