A List Of "OK Google" Commands And Their Functions

You'd be surprised to know that some Android users are still  on the older version of Android, like Jellybean and Ice cream sandwich. Some are also adventurous users of Android who is the boss to their smartphones. They are ever ready to explore their phones to the fullest and enjoyed every inch of it. They know that there is the possibility of them tweaking their Android phones to reach its full potential, remove every ounce of manufacturer's restrictions.

Several weeks ago, Google went into partnership with an American Motion Pictures and Entertainment Company, Warner Bros, to promote the release of Warner Bros' latest movie ''Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'', so as a result of this, Google added several commands to their voice command system, so whenever those commands are said to your Android phone, it performs a certain command that is in accordance with the said command.

Many already tried it, and many are still using these commands, while some already requested for more actions that Android phones can perform using "Google Now" or "OK Google" commands. But before you proceed, be certain that voice detection is enabled in your Android smartphone, plus a good data connection.

Below is a List of "OK Google" Commands And Their Functions

We will start with the basics, just say "OK Google" then followed by the command. For instance, you can open your Gmail App by saying "OK Google Open Gmail" and your Gmail App will be opened. You could also go to any website by saying "OK Google go to facebook.com". You can as well ask it to call someone in your phone's contact list by saying "OK Google" [Then followed by the person's name]. For instance, you can say "OK Google call Dad, " and it'll place a call to your dad for you. So I guess by now you've understood how this works, so here is a list of other commands.

• To Send text msg to [contact name]. Eg: “Text James I’m running late.”

• Remind me to [do a task]. Ex.: “Remind me to buy dog food at Wills grocery,” and it automatically creates a location-based reminder. “Remind me to take out the trash by tomorrow morning,”  and it creates a time-based reminder.

• Show me my pictures from [location]. Ex.: “Show me my pictures from San Francisco.”

• Set the alarm for [a particular time, or amount of time]. Ex.: “Set alarm for 10 a.m.” Or “Set alarm for 20 minutes from now.”

• Show me my last messages. This will present a list of recent messages, and read them to you, giving you a chance to reply.

• Show me my calendar.

• Post to Twitter.

• Post to Google+

• Show me [app category] apps. Ex.: “Show me gaming apps.”

• Show me emails from [contact name].

Search Queries: 

"OK Google" can also be used to perform a Google search by saying OK Google, followed by the search term or query. For instance "OK Google Donald Trump" makes a google search of Donald Trump. Below are some other examples.

• Define [word]. EG: Mitigate

• Find synonym of a word: Synonyms for [word].

• The etymology of [word].

• Math calculations. Ex.: “What is 10 percent of 2000500?”

• Listen to  Michael Jackson - Speechless etc
