Many us a well familiar with a popular British act, Robbin Hood, who was an outlaw but in a heroic manner. Robbin Hood was known for stealing from the corrupt rich heads and leaders and then using the money he stole to help the poor and the less privileged in the community.
The story of the Robin hood act is quite similar to that of Hamza Bendelladj, an Algerian C.Sc. (Computer Science) graduate aka ‘happy hacker’ who got over $400,000,000 more than 200 American banks and other financial institutions through his own specialized trojan horse called SpyEye.
Bendelladj, who hails from Tizi Ouzou in Algeria was dubbed the ‘happy hacker’ because he was photographed smiling after he was taken into custody in Bangkok. He donated all the money he stole through cyber-criminal acts to the charity and to the poor in Africa.
Depending on who you ask, Hamza Bendelladj is either a Robin Hood, a hero or a cyber-age hoodlum.
Was he a crook, criminal, a fraud, or truly a hero?
