MTN To Discontinue BlackBerry Services This January

I remember when Blackberry was the other of the day, then if you upload a picture of status to Facebook, and it didn't have "via Blackberry smartphone" beneath it, then you'll be seen as someone who doesn't know what's up. Many people especially college boys and girls did all sorts of rubbish just for them to own a blackberry phone. Little did they know that sooner or later, the mighty will fall.

Now, Blackberry as a device is losing not just its name as an OS, but also it's name as a brand. Several smartphone users have already departed the brand and switch to Android because Android now rules. Several network service providers are already leaving discontinuing their services on Blackberry.
I recall that Etisalat first started this, and later GLO joined them, around the same time period they launched GLO 4GLTE. Now MTN has taken the next in line to disclose their intentions of not supporting Blackberry devices.

A few days ago, MTN started sending out messages to their various customers who are still using Blackberry phones. The message read: "Dear customer, MTN Blackberry service will be decommissioned on 27/01/2017. Please upgrade to a smartphone and enjoy 100% bonus on any data bundle purchased"

This means that if you still own and use a Blackberry phone, more especially if you still have an active data subscription in it, try as much as possible to finish it before the deadline. You can always sell that your old phone for cash to purchase a new one, preferably Android so that you can enjoy amazing data bonus offers.
