Pastor Sacked For Registering With MMM Tops Google Search in Nigeria

The current state of the economy in the country has made a lot of Ponzi schemes a fertile land to grow. A few years back, during the previous regime(s), the country wasn't exactly the promised land, but no one cared enough about these peer-to-peer forums. Many scammers saw it as an opportunity to exploit others. However, there are several other forums like MMMUnited, UltimateCycler, iCharity which has proven to e real, despite the fact that went out of commission with lots of pending transactions, but later came back as promised.

Now, the situation of things in the country isn't funny anymore, and everybody wants to source for means to make to both ends meet. That also includes a Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, Pastor Joseph Aiyedun, who registered with MMM, but unfortunately,  he was discharged from office afterward. This was made known by Google’s Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Anglophone West Africa, said in a statement in Lagos that the pastor was sacked for registering with the controversial Ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, popularly known as MMM. He said that the development, according to Google Trends, topped searches from January 11 to January 18.

Google Trends is a public web facility of Google Inc., based on Google Search, that shows how often a particular search-term is entered relative to the total search-volume across various regions of the world, and in various languages. It shows the most serch items, words, phrases, people, places, etc in a given time. 

Google trends reveals that other trending stories this week includes Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh, who has insisted he would not step aside for the inauguration of the newly elected leader, Adama Barrow. Other trending stories include the score line for the European Premier League result andthe on-going AFCON 2017.
