Viber Now Offer Free Calls To Countries Affected By Trump's Ban

Following last week's events and new developments which includes the ban of some muslim countries entering into the United States, Rakuten, the Japanese owner of popular communication app Viber, announced that the app now offers free calls between the United States and the seven countries impacted by president Trump's travel ban.

This free call service is only available via Viber international calls service. Viber users can now place calls to any landline or mobile number in the ffected countries which includes Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Libya and Yemen. Likewise, free calls towards the United States are available from these countries.

At the moment, Airbnb is working to provide temporary housing to people who were affected by the order, and Viber offering free calls on both sides, the world of technology helps make the rather unfortunate situation easier to bear.

Meanwhile, other tech companies have joined in the quest of giving a helping hand to these countries and their citizens, by making donations and offering free legal assistance to employees. Google created a $2 million crisis fund and Lyft is donating $1 million to the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) over 4 years, after coming out against the executive order.
