Monthly Data Review: Cheapest Data in The Month of May

The month of May is the fifth month of the year according to the native calendar. And we at techvillz.com have this ritual we do every month about reviewing the available data subscription plans proffered by the several ISP in the country. Unfortunately, last month we didn't review the monthly data subscription because there were no much changes in the list of available data. However, in the month of April, there were a few changes that arose which we will be reviewing for you today. So without taking much time, let's get right away.

1.    MTN NG:   The South African mobile telecom network that operates in Nigeria seem to be stable over these past few months, both in data prices and in network connectivity speed.  During the Easter period, they decided to do well by their customers and offers 100% bonus on any data bundle you purchase via their regular USSD code, *131#. This means that you will get 3GB data for 1k, 7GB for 2k, 20GB for 5k etc, and will all valid for 30days. Unfortunately, this was just limited only to the Easter festive/holiday period.

On the other other, SME data can still be bought from trusted third-party sellers at the rate of 1GB at 800 and 2GB and 1300 with 30days validity. Still on MTN, you can also enjoy night plan of 500mb for 25naira, valid for 24hours and usable from 12 to 5am, only on MTN i-Pulse.

2.    Airtel:
Airtel was also one of the ISP that remained stable with their plans and their prices. While other networks were making buying data bundle difficult for their customers, Africa's best smartphone network was busy doing the opposite. Airtel customers can now enjoy real data bonus on every data they purchase. In April they rewarded their customers with massive 6GB data usable on all internet-enabled device for 30days.

And unlike several free data offers they have given, this one didn't zap at all. Airtel is also offering 100% bonus on every data you buy for the next 6months. Meaning that you can get 3GB for 1k and 7GB for 2k as long as the offer still stand.

Also, if you won any Airtel Sim card that you have not recharged for the last 30days, go and dust it up wherever it is and, recharge with any amount of your choice using *555*pin# and you 600% bonus can be used to browse and call local networks. Also, Android users can still use Airtel's blackberry subscription smoothly on their Android phones just by following this simple guideline

3.    Etisalat:    Nothing much was changed about Etisalat besides the fact that the price of their data plans (both official and SME) went up. Talks have it that the telecom company has been having some financial issue which almost led to the company being bought by another independent entity.

Though their data network speed and connection is nothing to be joking with in terms of speed, the fact still remains that the prices of their data price are high and the data now finishes on time compared to before. But if etisalat is your best bet for internet browsing, you can go ahead and purchase any amount of your choice. Simply dial *200*3*1# to get started.

You can also do well to patronize trusted third-party sellers who give you 1GB data at a discounted rate of 750naira and 2GB @ 1300naira.

4.    GLO NG:
After the incident that happened last week, I believe it will safe to ask if Glo NG is still the grand masters of data. If they still merit that title. Because not only that their network speed is still slow and annoying in most areas, the data allocations were reduced by 50%. Plus the new terms and conditions that were now placed on them will make most internet users to desert them.

However, the new conditions, Glo still remains the only ISP that offers huge data both in 3G and in 4GLTE, and if you follow the rules as they have been explained here, you will still be getting 100% data on every purchase, despite the 50% reduction
