Qualcomm and Google have assisted a popular French fashion house and luxury retail company, Louis Vuitton in making their own premium Android Wear device, the Tambour Horizon. With this development, I think it'll be safe to say that technology and fashion are beginning to fit together, and I believe that we are going to see more of technology based fashion inventions, just like the Coded Couture, which is basically an app that makes you a customized dress based on your daily activities.
Louis Vuitton's Tambour Horizon uses the same Snapdragon Wear 2100 gear that is seen in several smart watches like the ones from LG, Gameband, Armani, Guess and Montblanc. Its hardware and physical looks are quite familiar too, with a 42mm case standing, 12.5mm off your wrist and 1.2-inch AMOLED, 390 x 390 touchscreen.
The smart watch is electronically powered by a 300mAh battery, runs on Google's Android 2.0 and the storages are handled by a 4GB storage drive and a 512MB RAM. There are also some exclusive apps, like My Flight, which helps you get around airports and planes, and there is another app called City Guide which points you to cool hotspots when you land.
One noted con of the new premium Android Wear device is LV is the absence of an optical heart rate monitor from the underside of the case. It comes available in three case styles, gray, black and brown and there are 60 sets of easily-detachable straps for customers to choose from, 30 intended for women, 30 for men.
The gray and brown options of the new Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon goes for $2,450 while the black version of it goes for $2,900. Louis Vuitton is hoping to make more of its goods and services connected in the future
