Android 8.0 is Google's next version of Android, and its massive rollout is around the corner. And that makes it possible for Pixel and Nexus users to manually flash the final Android O image on their devices. But for several other Android devices to run the much-anticipated OS, the time for that is still long. Nevertheless, FOSS nature of Android allowed a developer known by the name Deletescape, with another developer called Amir Z, to port the Pixel launcher for other devices in the past.
And now, they have released their the next version called Rootless Pixel Launcher 2.1 which is based on the newest Android 8.0 Oreo or Pixel launcher. If you ask me, I would say that regarding look and feel, there isn’t much different from that of the Nougat Launcher and their APK doesn’t require to be rooted. All you need to do is to download from here, install then use.
Now After installation, you will have to make it your default launcher, and to do that
1. Open your phone's settings menu
2. Move to Apps then to Downloaded Apps
3. Now look for Launcher 3
4. Scroll down to Home App, it should be set to no, now touch it to open that options
5. Now find an option that says Home app in the next screen and then select Launcher 3 ad the default launcher.
Now for Older versions of Android, like 5.0 and earlier, making this app your default launcher is quite easy. All you have to do is to install the app, once the installation is completed, tap the home button and then select Launcher 3 as your default screen.
For other versions or older versions of Launcher 3 Lollipop and Oreo based, just visit the developer's GitHub page. They were kind enough to share their source codes as well.
