Mobile data are in some way related to the type of co-existence between a fish and a pond, not that your smartphone can't live without the mobile data, but they can't be of much use and interest to you.

But setting a data usage limit can or will in some way, save you from making any unnecessary payments. All you need to do is to head over to your phone Settings and tap on Data Usage>>Billing Cycle>>Data limit and billing cycle. from there you can set the maximum amount of data you intend to use in a month. Also, you can set your phone's internet connect to automatically disconnect whenever you reach that max threshold.


2.   Use Data Saver Features in Web Browsers

Android phone web browsers like Google Chrome and Opera Mini comes with an in-built data compressing feature. So you are advised to turn on and make use of these features when browsing the net. 5.   You Have to Limit Your Streaming Time

Many smartphones and internet users today spend most hours of the day on the video sharing website looking for ways to engage themselves with new and old video contents, forgetting that the burden is being laid on their precious mobile data.

So in other to limit the amount of data you spend monthly, you will have to cut or reduce the amount of time you spend on music and video streaming websites. Buy and download those contents if you must, because streaming music and videos are the most data-hungry content especially if they are of  high-quality sounds and images.


6.   Use Google Maps Offline

Being able to use Google Maps while your phone is in airplane mode is one of the five things you can do with your phone in offline mode. So you can see, even when it is seems inoperable, it can still be used to do one in a million things. But in this situation, caching  Google maps for offline use is one of the many ways you can save both your smartphone's battery and reduce data usage while at it.

To be able to use Google maps for navigation and save mobile data, you have to first download the data for offline use using Wi-Fi. Then open Google Maps, then Menu and select “Offline Maps”. to  “Select your own map” and zoom in or out to select the area you want to be available when offline.

So in other save yourself from too much data spending, you have to adjust your synchronization settings by going to your phone Settings>>Accounts. There you can fine tune those sync settings for different apps to meet your taste. Option you can decide to turn off may include Google Fit data, Google Play Movies, and Google Play Music etc.


8.   Be Watchful and Monitor The Apps You Install

There are some apps that require more data than others, apps like Facebook and WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat etc requires constant use and access to the internet for them to remain in commission. Install less of these kind of apps and also disable media auto-play / media auto download.

✔   Download large files when you are on Wi-Fi.
