Before now, Samsung seems the technology company with the title of making the data drive with the highest capacity. But barely 1 month of earning that title, they've already being ousted by Nimbus Data, a flash memory hardware company from Irvine, California.
The company in a press release unveiled their very own new pocket-sized ExaDrive SSD can store a whopping 100TB of data, making it ideal for data centers and edge servers for IoT services, or just individuals.
2. It is really small in size for a storage drive worth 100TB which has its own perks like
it allows them to fit more drives in server racks
it won't require a large amount of space
It won't require much to cool off
Nimbus says that a standard rack kitted with its drives will hold over 100 petabytes (1 petabyte = 1,000 TB).
There is no word on the exact price tag on the ExaDrive but you can expect it to cost more than Samsung’s 15TB SSD which launched from mid-2016 at a cost of $10,000 and is expected to launch this summer
