Hibernation in computing is a command which instructs the computer to suspend its operations and powers down the computer while retaining its state. Upon hibernation, the computer saves the contents of its random access memory (RAM) to a hard disk or other non-volatile storage. Any unsaved data is not lost during the process, and the user can also continue working on the once he/she boots up the computer again.
How To Enable Hibernate in Windows 8 and 8.1
