MTN was truly a savior to many people when they first entered the country to provide mobile telephone access and services. Though as of then their prices was very high, you could imagine buying a sim card packaged with a CD cover for 100k. Many people who could afford it then patronized their services. As time went by, they introduced some other cool tariff plans and services like Xtra cool and Xtra Connect, for cheaper call rates during the day and free calls during the night.
Share n' sell which was their service that allowed users to conveniently transfer airtime to other MTN customers were among the services introduced by MTN. Ever since then, the service has been up and running smoothly without any hassle and was absolutely free. Despite the expected Dec 1 data price hike, the service still remains free.
Then after, MTN boss urged the FG to ban the usage and services of Whatsapp and other social media alike in Nigeria, but still yet the Share "n" Sell service by MTN still remained free till now. MTN began to send a text message to their customers informing them about a fee that will be charged for every share and sell transaction as seen below

What is your opinion on this? Do you think MTN should go ahead with this? Or end the share and sell services altogether. How much would you say it's OK to charge? Airtel NG currently charges 10naira for every Me2U transaction.
