Here is Why You Should Avoid Porn, Especially on Android Phones

A popular Russian cyber-security firm known as Kaspersky Lab has discovered that at least 1.2 million people came across porn-disguised malware on Google's Android operating system last year. Hacker uses porn to entice and bait unwitting users into clicking on their links, which is, by the way, a very common trick but you'd be surprised to know that many people still fall for it.

In may 2017, a group of hackers used fake porn apps to rob more about $892,000 off a million Android phones of, and a network of 90,000 bots spammed Twitter with porn that led to a scam website. Kaspersky researchers said they've found porn-related malware more than 300,000 times. The team found 23 different types of malware designed for Android devices, all relying heavily on porn as a lure. They included ransomware, Trojans that went after your bank account and fake subscriptions.

iPhones were airtight that these malware and vulnerabilities didn't find their way into them, which is probably because Apple iOS isn't an opensource OS, and Google in their defense declined to comment on the results of the research Kaspersky Lab.

The majority of the problem malware was linked to "clicker" which is a Trojan that does a very good job at opening up pages and then clicking on advertisements without the victim  (user) being oblivious about the whole thing. This would be beneficial to the attacker is some ways which includes:

1.   Earn the attacker money for clicked ads.

2.   Drain battery life from the victim's phone.

3.   Use up a very good amount of storage space on your phone. 

4.  Escalate your data usage In one case, a malware app used up more than 100MB of data on just ads alone in one night.

These clicker Trojans are mostly downloaded from porn websites and also found it in fake apps and video players. Kaspersky Lab went on to disclose that some malware comes in the front of regular apps since apps with adult contents aren't allowed on Google Play Store, and once they latch onto your phone, the first thing they do is to change the password on your device unless you pay up some sort of ransome. These payments mostly done in bitcoins, while nRansomware requests your nude photos as a form payment

"The scariest thing about mobile ransomware is that these Trojans change (or set) the device PIN code to random, so even if the user can delete the Trojan, the phone will remain locked," Kaspersky Team said in its blog post
