I don't really know what to say about this anymore and I smell something fishy that is about to go on, but let me keep my fingers crossed yet. Facebook is gradually changing their upping games to greater height. The social media giant has launched another app which they called Events by Facebook following the launch of MarketPlace which is another recent release from Facebook where people can people can buy and sell items n stuffs.
Facebook Event is a standalone version of the Events section of the Facebook social network. The app which can be easily used to RSVP events like Birthdays, Gala, etc was launched last weekend. The Facebook events app comes with a map feature which can be used to find events that are happening or are set to happen around the city. You can also view your friend(s) events and events from Facebook pages that you've liked. It also has a calendar feature that lets you see your overall schedule with events you're planning to attend.
The company says that the reason behind this launch is because the events section of their platform is used by millions of users on daily basis and this isn't the first time Facebook has made a standalone app off a feature from their social media. A few years back, the company launched Facebook Messenger, which is a standalone app of one-on-one private Facebook messaging feature. Later, they shut off Facebook's messaging features thereby forcing everyone to download Messenger App and this strategy seems to have worked because Facebook Messenger now has a billion users.
Facebook doesn't seem to be quite as pushy this time around. The company doesn't appear to be forcing you to download the new Events App, at least not yet. For now, it is only available on Apple's iOS for iPhones, but Facebook says it's soon coming to Android.
